PIT and Fraport to introduce new speciality retail concepts

Six new stores will open in the Centre Core of the airside terminal at Pittsburgh Airport.

Pittsburgh International Airport, in partnership with Fraport Pittsburgh is introducing various speciality stores.

Offerings range from a one-of-a-kind fragrance bar to an interactive play space for children and parents alike.

Cathy Simoni, Vice President of Fraport Pittsburgh said: “We’re pleased to introduce new concepts that cater to the airport’s growing passenger base and create a vibrant retail experience.

DYNAMIC PROGRAMME

“Like any retail environment, our programme at Pittsburgh International Airport is dynamic and evolves with consumer tastes and trends. Our focus continues to be on serving the travelling public and giving passengers and guests a great experience at the airport.”

Six new stores will open in the Centre Core of the airside terminal. Hours of operation are 5:00 am to 8:00pm Sunday through Friday and 5:00am to 7:30 pm Saturday.

The Timeless Travel outlet will carry a range of watches, bags and accessories from designers and brands including Michael Kors, Armani, Furla, Prada, Tissot, Fossil, Montblanc and Coach, with new selections arriving monthly. The 1,050sq ft store opens late February.

A 1,432sq ft Perfectly Plane Fun shop will open in March. This is an interactive space comprising toys, games, puzzles and more to entertain kids and adults.

Also opening in March is a 561sq ft The Candy Shoppe boutique offering travellers speciality candy, sweets and treats.

New stores include the Timeless Travel outlet, Perfectly Plane Fun shop and The Candy Shoppe boutique.

Next month, a Soul Mates outlet will begin trading to capitalise on the latest accessory trend for socks. The 734sq ft store will sell novelty socks and multiple styles, prints and colours for men, women and children. Statement and essential basics for trips will be available in-store.

Functional bags will be on offer at the new 657sq ft Baggallini store, starting 31 March, while The Galleria, with its fragrance bar, other amenities and open store design, will offer a wide range of products.

The latter will offer duty free and duty paid products from familiar brands across 3,561sq ft of space and open for business in March.

Other recent additions to the retail mix include Steel City News and Steel City Express news and gift stores.

Eric Sprys, Chief Commercial Officer, Allegheny County Airport Authority commented: “As we continue to increase the number of passengers in our terminal, we’re eager to introduce new concepts and stores throughout the airport. We expect to add even more shopping and dining options in the upcoming year.”
