By Luke Barras-hill |

SafeBagwrapSafe Bag has followed up its recent contract win at Warsaw’s Frédéric Chopin Airport with a deal to supply its integrated range of passenger services at Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport.

The new contract is one of six new licences set to begin between 2017-2020, following a plan approved by the company’s board of directors on 5 June. Activities begin this month.

Rudolph Gentile, Chairman and Founder of Safe Bag said: “The fact that we have secured this new licence in Canada confirms the success of the cautionary Safe Bag Industrial Plan for 2017- 20 in which, in the two-year period from 2017 to 2018, only two new licences were included.

“The challenge is clearly to exceed the estimates provided to the market, as we effectively already managed to do in 2016.”

Ottawa is the fourth most important airport in Canada, the company says in a statement, handling approximately five million passengers in 2016. Safe Bag already operates in Montreal and Vancouver.

Alessandro Notari, CEO of Safe Bag, added: “The international airport of Ottawa is confirmation of the potential Safe Bag has to grow in North America, a geographical area in which our services are extremely popular and where we believe we can continue to develop in the coming years”.

Safe Bag provides baggage security and tracing services at airports in Italy, France, Portugal, Switzerland, USA, Canada and Poland across a total of 80 points of sale.
