Seattle Airport tenders five retail stores and 7 F&B units

The Port of Seattle has released five retail and seven F&B concession bid opportunities at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport which it refers to as ‘Lease Group 4’ and it is inviting interested businesses to an information session and airport tour on Wednesday 26 July between 1400 and 1700.

 

A second tour will also be organised for 2 August from 0900 to 11.00am with both sessions set to be held at The Conference Center in Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. (Any companies interested in attending are required to register at [email protected] by the end of today.

 

The Port of Seattle Commissioners only recently authorised the Port to move forward with the competitive selection process for a total of 21 units in multiple packages. These first ‘retail outlets’ on offer all carry eight-year contract terms and comprise the following:

 

LG4 CEP R-1: A single 1,454sq ft unit specialty retail package located in the Central Terminal (CT-8) requiring a local theme reflecting products sold in the Seattle metropolitan area and a minimum investment per square foot of $400. Target opening: October 1, 2019.

CONTRACT CLOSE DATES TO BE ADVISED

LG4 CEP R-2: A single 1,114sq ft unit specialty retail open concept package located on Concourse B CB-3B with defined concept not requested as yet. Proposers are being encouraged to identify and then to develop a creative specialty retail concept for this location that will appeal to the passenger market. Minimum investment per square foot: $400. Target opening: January 1, 2019 .

 

LG4 CEP R-3: This is a single 2,060sq ft unit specialty retail package located in the Central Terminal (CT-9) requiring specialty retail/lifestyle apparel OR adventurewear. Airport says products sold should include apparel, equipment, and accessories appropriate for outdoor recreational activities, OR merchandise that specifically targets and is in keeping with current lifestyle trends and the wants and needs of the passengers using the Airport. Minimum investment per square foot of $425. Target opening: October 1, 2019.

 

TRAFFIC HAS GROWN BY 15M IN JUST 7 YEARS

LG4 CEP R-4: This is a single 2,409sq ft unit specialty retail package located in the Central Terminal (CT-16) requiring specialty retail/lifestyle OR adventurewear Apparel. Products sold should include apparel, equipment, and accessories appropriate for outdoor recreational activities, OR merchandise that specifically targets and is in keeping with current lifestyle trends and the wants and needs of the passengers using the Airport. Minimum investment per square foot of $425. Target opening: March 1 2018.

LG4 RFP R-5: This is a 5-unit Retail package located in the following areas and selling the stated categories: Concourse B (CB-1) – Specialty Retail/Open 949sq ft (Jan 1 2019); Concourse C (CC-4) – Specialty Retail/Open 860sq ft (Jan 1 2019); Concourse C (CC-9) – Jewellery/Accessories 456sq ft (Feb 1 2019); Baggage Level (HS-2) – Newsstand with Coffee 550sq ft (Dec 1 2018); Central Terminal (CT-25) – Jewellery/Accessories 400sq ft (Feb 1 2009).

 

The airport authority says that in seven years Sea-Tac’s passenger numbers have increased by nearly 15m from 31.5m in 2010 to 45.7m in 2016.

 

So far, overall passenger totals are said to have risen by 4%, including a 13%increase in international traffic. In addition to the retail offerings the airport is also offering seven 10-year F&B contracts, including outlet opportunities for casual dining, gourmet coffee, wine bars, delicatessens, gourmet and bar food etc
