Ferrero TR Sustainability Week

Ferrero Travel Markets has been announced as a Headline Sponsor of the upcoming TR Sustainability Week (4-8 September 2023).

The partnership underscores the company’s enthusiasm for sharing the beliefs and processes that make it stand out in the fields of environmental and corporate responsibility.

“The climate emergency requires all stakeholders from across the travel retail industry, and wider, to step up our commitments to the cause of sustainability,” said Sergio Salvagno, Ferrero Travel Market General Manager.

“We all must work together to reduce carbon emissions and help limit climate change, and Ferrero will play its part by delivering a new set of climate change commitments for 2030.

“Issues such as this require a concerted effort from everyone and events such as TR Sustainability Week are vital in creating a platform to share ideas and innovations which can benefit not just our businesses, but the wider world as well.”TR Sustainability Week 2023

A global company, Ferrero is ‘keenly aware’ of its sustainability responsibilities, with its sustainability strategy is built around four key pillars: protect the environment; source ingredients responsibly; promote responsible consumption and empower people.

These are embedded into every action Ferrero takes, from being fully compliant with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and seeking to reduce carbon emissions per tonne of product by 43% by 2030, to only sourcing cocoa and chocolate through leading independently managed sustainability standards.

A family business, Ferrero has a ‘deep-rooted belief in the power and importance of people’ and an ‘understanding that a diverse and inclusive workforce is crucial to long-term success.’

The global team inspires Ferrero employees to celebrate cultural diversity, and the company aims to create a workplace where everyone feels valued and respected, as it describes: ‘A place where employees can be themselves and work together to reach common goals’.

These core ideals will be at the forefront as Ferrero joins TRBusiness for the company’s upcoming TR Sustainability Week, which is the duty free and travel retail industry’s only event dedicated to sustainability.
