TRBusiness Interview: Dag Rasmussen, CEO & Chairman, Lagardère Travel Retail

By Richard Blow |

In an exclusive interview, Lagardère Travel Retail Chairman and CEO Dag Rasmussen reports that the business is trading well year-to-date, with highlights in Europe this year including the opening of the Avoncorpo T3 zone at Rome Fiumicino Airport, together with modernisation projects at Nice, Prague and Luton that have generated healthy increases in like-for-like sales.

The Brexit decision has been ‘positive’ for the UK operation, TRBusiness hears, however there has been a knock-on effect to outbound spend per pax. Despite challenges caused by the terror attacks, which have had a detrimental impact on the traveller due to increased security, congestion and delays, performances have been positive.

Elsewhere, Rasmussen says he is “very happy” with the integration of Paradies into Lagardère Travel Retail’s operations and speaks about plans to develop the Africa business.
