Keeping consumer confidence & trust is ‘most important’ task for Loacker

By Faye Bartle |

A key name in the sweet biscuits, wafters and cookies category, Loacker is investing its efforts in continuing to keep the confidence and trust of travelling shoppers in what has been a “complicated” year for stakeholders, according to Juan Miguel Cabrera, Head of Travel Retail and Duty Free, Loacker.

Cabrera highlighted the “fierce” competition in the subcategory, yet stressed how this dynamic fosters a healthy environment for growth.

“It’s helping us, it’s helping others, and it’s helping travel retail in general,” he told TRBusiness in this video news update, filmed on location at the 2025 TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.

He went on to mention how external factors influencing the price of raw materials as the biggest issue the company is currently facing.

However, Cabrera believes travel retail will remain resilient in finding a way through the issue.

“In the end, [it’s] our way to make consumers happy. Especially for a company like Loacker, which is one of the biggest international wafers companies, with our quality and traditional heritage.”

He continued: “We can still grow much more.” Hit play on the video below to hear more…
