In this video interview filmed in partnership with Bluedog Group, direct from the show floor at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes earlier this month, Martin MacKinnon, General Manager GTR & Regional Sales Director EMEA, Accolade Wines, talks us through new innovations from the company’s core brands and the wave of NPD.
Backing the view that travel retail is a “perfect place for new innovation”, Accolade Wines’ worldwide duty free and airlines business revenues are tracking at 108% this year, compared to 2022.
“We are really focusing trying to attract new consumers into the wine category and that’s the reason we are launching Wise Wolf and Cupiolo – brands that are bit more disruptive, and a bit more interesting to the shoppers,” said MacKinnon.
Within its growing portfolio, the company is celebrating a key milestone this year with Hardys marking its 170th anniversary in 2023.
In Cannes, the full Hardys range was on show, from Crest to the global travel retail exclusive high-end wine The Eight.
This extremely rare proposition, with just eight barrels produced, is made from “the finest quality fruit” from three of Australia’s most prestigious winemaking regions: Frankland River, McLaren Vale and Coonawarra.
As MacKinnon revealed, just 2,000 bottles are available. It’s already for sale at Sydney and Melbourne airports and will be launching in the EMEA market shortly as well.
