With this milestone, Avishek is one of several Indians to have received this commendation.
Avishek Bambii Das, CEO of Ospree Duty Free, has been honored as a Keeper of the Quaich, the highest honor in the Scotch whisky industry, at Blair Atholl Castle in Scotland.
The Keepers of the Quaich is an exclusive international society celebrating individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Scotch whisky industry.
This recognition is reserved for individuals making significant contributions to the industry, with only a select few invited each year.
The same evening, renowned musician and rock legend Sir Rod Stewart was also honored as a Keeper of the Quaich.
Das said of the honour: “Being honored as a Keeper of the Quaich is a remarkable & rare privilege. To be recognized by the Scotch whisky community, which represents tradition and excellence, is deeply humbling.
This honor reflects our passion for Scotch whisky, and we look forward to continuing our contribution to this remarkable industry.”
Under Avishek’s leadership, Ospree Duty Free’s single malt scotch assortment has experienced growth of 60% YoY, led by Ospree’s range of over 250 malts.
Overall, the whisky category grew by 41% in FY24, accounting for 45% of total revenue.
