Charles Chen has retired from China Tourism Group Duty Free.
Former China Duty Free Group (CDFG) President Charles Chen has resigned his position as Vice Chairman and Director of parent company China Tourism Group (CTG) Duty Free Co., Ltd to take retirement.
Chen will no longer hold a position in the company or its holding subsidiaries, confirms a stock market filing seen by this publication.
“There is no disagreement between Mr Chen and the Company’s Board of Directors, nor is there any matter related to his resignation that needs to be brought to the attention of the company’s shareholders,” read a statement.
At the time of the stock market disclosure (20 September), Chen did not hold any shares within the company.
His resignation has not resulted in the number of Board of Directors falling below the statutory minimum level, nor does it affect their activities or the company’s daily operations, adds the statement.
As reported, Chen was appointed President of CDFG in 2016 having first joined the company in 1987.
He stood down in that position at the beginning of 2023, succeeded by General Manager Wang Xuan.
