Macau Airport opens RFP for duty free liquor and tobacco sub-concession
By Simon Warburton |
Macau International Airport (MFM) says it has launched an open tender for a duty free liquor and tobacco services sub-concession.
In line with the airport commercial modification plan, the request for proposal is for retail services by product category for one operator.
The company will operate duty free liquor and tobacco services optionally with or without general merchandise retail services (but no perfume and cosmetics services), for ‘Shop Tender No. 1 + 2 + 3 + 4,’ with a total area of around 628sq m airside in the airport’s passenger terminal building.
A document seen by TRBusiness reads: “Please note that any company which has entered into and maintains a sub-concession contract of any activities/services with CAM as a sub-concessionaire at the airport will in no case be selected for the contract negotiation under the present RFP.”
The Shilla Duty Free has operated duty free concessions at the airport’s north departure airside area since November 2019, while the King Power Macau/CDFG joint venture was appointed to run the south side duty free area in 2018.
The RFP documents and other pertinent information are available at: www.camacau.com until midday on 29 November, 2023 (Macau local time).
News of the RFP comes as Macau International Airport continues to carry out its 2021-2025 Strategic Development Plan to implement a land reclamation project.
The Macau International Airport Master Plan formulated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Macau SAR (Special Administrative Region), was approved by central government in October, 2022.
