Four renovated retail outlets – We love Amsterdam, FineFood, Let’s Play and a new Capi Electronics store – have opened their doors to travellers at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Lounge 1.

The openings are part of a wider redevelopment and expansion of the lounge space, which incorporates an extended retail and catering offer.

The new electronics outlet is Capi’s largest shop at the airport to date. It offers consumer electronics, travel accessories, personal grooming products and gadgets, with a focus on enjoyment, interaction and convenience.

Schiphol strives for sustainability

Retailer World of Delights has opened new FineFood, We Love Amsterdam and Let’s Play stores. These shops are updated versions of the existing concepts in Lounges 2 and 3. They offer travellers a selection of snacks, delicacies, Dutch souvenirs and toys.

Sustainability is a key feature of the Lounge 1 redevelopment design. The airport is striving to re-use as much material as possible, and the renovation project is part of Schiphol’s goal to be a fully waste-free airport by 2030.

The new lounge is divided into three areas. To aid passenger orientation, each area has been given its own look and feel, using different shapes, colours and materials.

The next stage of the redevelopment will be the extension of the Food Court. A new All Day Café is now under construction on the site of the Het Paleis Grand Café . This area incorporates plenty of seating and clear aircraft views.

In the summer, the location’s walkways will be adapted to direct passengers through the lounge in a different way, with arriving and departing passengers kept separate, for greater speed and convenience.
