The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) reports that its member airlines carried 12.4m passengers in January, a rise of 3.5% compared to January 2010.
In addition, capacity increased by 1.0% and the average load factor climbed 1.4 percentage points to 78.8%, compared with January 2010.
ALTA is a private, non-profit organization with more than 30 member airlines, which represent more than 90% of the region’s commercial air traffic.
