Silent Pool’s Green Man Wildwood Gin (formerly Green Man Woodland Gin), which comes in a lightweight and fully recyclable cardboard bottle, has clocked up a number of travel retail listings in recent months.
The spirit now has available through Dubai Duty Free, at Bahrain International Airport and Hamad International Airport, as well as at a number of airports in the US and India, along with Paraguayan travel retailer Shopping China.
In addition, passengers can taste it onboard Etihad as a First Class Pouring.
“We’re expecting the brand to go into a further 20+ locations by the end of the year and additional airline in-flight offerings,” said Adam Dobson, Sales Director at Silent Pool Gin.
“We’ve seen a huge amount of interest in the bottle across travel retail, from duty free stores to in-flight offerings.”
As reported, Silent Pool entered into a partnership with specialist wines and spirits company Duty Free Global from September 2021 to represent its products in worldwide duty free.
The gin’s lightweight bottle, which is especially appealing to travellers on-the-move, is made from 94% recycled paper which, when compared to a glass bottle, uses 77% less plastic, is five times lighter and has a carbon footprint six times lower.
Green Man Wildwood Gin, RRP US$41 (42% Vol, 70cl), is distilled at the Silent Pool Distillery, located on the Albury Estate in Surrey.
It has top notes of pine, fir and rich birch leaf, which give way to a herbal, green mid-palate including Macedonian juniper, rose hips and apple.
Woody, rooty notes from Bosnian juniper, fennel seeds, dandelion and burdock emerge at the finish.
It works well as a G&T served with Mediterranean tonic and garnished with a sprig of pine.
For every bottle of Green Man Woodland Gin sold, Silent Pool plants a tree in the Surrey Hills.
