TRBusiness Singapore Shorts: Victorinox

By Luke Barras-hill |

Victorinox Head of Global Travel Retail Gloria Dix has identified Asia as a key growth region for the Switzerland-headquartered product maker.

In a video interview with TRBusiness Singapore Shorts, produced in partnership with The Bluedog Group and filmed on location at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in Singapore, Dix spoke about the company’s “big spending plans”.

The maker of the original Swiss Army knife took a high-impact space within the exhibition hall in Singapore from which it proudly displayed its assortments, from luggage and watches to accessories.

The functional travel segment is demonstrating particular potential, particularly among returning business and leisure travellers post-Covid, explained Dix.

“One of the challenges for new and emerging brands in travel retail is quite a stagnant retail environment; if you want to conquer new space and do not want to give a commitment to a 2-3 year lease, what is your option? We need more spaces for brands to be tested.”

Regionally, India and China, including in Hainan and the downtown shop channel represent opportunities to build the brand’s presence, added Dix, who also reveals its latest news…
