FAWJ Spotlight: E. Gluck confident in double-digit growth
By Benedict Evans |
Rob Robertaccio, SVP, Global & Travel Retail Sales, E. Gluck, talks with TRBusiness about the trends impacting FAWJ, and how the company is looking to capture a larger share of the fashion market with its latest brand, Nine West.
As its cruise and inflight segments return to normalcy – and indeed grow with new listings – Robertaccio notes the first quarter of 2024 has seen its FAWJ assortment grow upwards of 10% YTD. As opportunities evolve, Robertaccio points to the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference as a natural driver for the continuation, and development of, partnerships that will develop through 2025.
One of the big things Robertaccio highlights is a renewed focus on exclusive products within travel retail. E. Gluck is looking to extend the scope of TR exclusive products with operators such as DFS, as well as onboard exclusives with various cruise operators.
E. Gluck is taking a more global approach to its exclusives, with several items (from Anne Klein and Nine West) currently in development. Robertaccio also covers the steps it is taking to establish the Nine West brand with the likes of Shenzhen Duty Free Group; the natural differences in consumer preferences when it comes to luxury and fashion; and the importance of balancing those same preferences against the need for a sustainable approach to both sourcing and consumption.
