The new brand release combines the viral popularity of ‘Dubai chocolate’ with an inventive, family-sized format.

Kreol Travel Retail has introduced a unique Pistachio Kunafa Chocolate under the premium travel retail brand Petit Gourmet, at Sharjah Duty Free operated by Avolta. Kreol Travel Retail said this innovative release marks a distinctive step forward within the destination-inspired confectionery space.

Differentiating from the impulse-size format, Kreol Travel Retail has distinguished this offering by launching the Pistachio Kunafa Chocolate in a 470g sharing size.

This adaptation caters to travel retail consumers looking for premium, destination-inspired gifting solutions, while paying homage to the viral confectionery trend sweeping the UAE with an authentic made in Dubai chocolate product.

Petit Gourmet, renowned in travel retail for its range of Mediterranean sweets including premium baklavas, is part of BMB Group, which was in turn under Agthia Group, a leading Abu Dhabi-based food and beverage conglomerate backed by ADQ, one of the region’s largest holding companies with diversified investments across key sectors.

Agthia is well-recognized for its portfolio of premium consumer brands, making significant strides in both local and international markets. Kreol Travel Retail represents this portfolio of consumer brands across the travel retail channel.

The Petit Gourmet Pistachio Kunafa Chocolate is now available at Sharjah Duty Free, further elevating the region’s confectionery offering for discerning travellers.

Commenting on the launch, Kreol Arakulath, Executive Director of Kreol Travel Retail, said: “Travel retail success often hinges on innovation rooted in genuine consumer insights but also on product relatability. By reimagining the popular pistachio kunafa chocolate trend into a compelling sharing format, we’ve created our own spin on creating something that deeply resonates with travellers seeking unique gifting experiences. We have a lot more in the pipeline we can’t wait to share.

“Sharjah Duty Free is excited to present Pistachio Kunafa Chocolate in collaboration with our partner Kreol Travel Retail, and committed to promote innovation and to support made-in-UAE products”, says Alexandre Tabacoff, Managing Director at Avolta Middle East & Egypt.

Adham Elsayed, Senior Commercial Director- Snacking Agthia, added: “When people ask if ‘Dubai chocolate’ is just a passing trend, I tell them — it’s here to stay. Just like dates evolved from a commodity into a timeless gifting staple, Dubai chocolate is following the same journey. Take chocolate-dates, for example — once a novelty, now a must-have in every premium gift box. With over 15 years of experience in this space, I can confidently say this is only the beginning.”
