Lagardère expands in New Zealand with Nelson Airport

Nelson-Airport-new-terminal-rendering-leadLagardère Travel Retail will enter Nelson Airport this October with ‘The Nelson store, expanding its footprint in New Zealand where it already operates in Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Wellington, Palmerston North, Queenstown and Rotorua airports.

 

Nelson airport plans to complete the first phase of its new terminal build by mid-October this year.

 

The Nelson Store will offer travel essentials, gifts & souvenirs, gourmet produce and win, drawing on the best products and brands from the Nelson/Tasman region and across New Zealand.

 

The 145sq m store, due to open in October 2018, will be the only speciality retail offer in the new airport terminal and will create a ‘natural extension of the customers’ South Island journey’, says Lagardère.

 

‘TRUE SENSE OF THE SOUTH ISLAND’

“The Nelson Store will be designed to showcase the best of this exciting region with a new and innovative offer,” said Paul Ryan, Strategy and Development Director of Lagardère Travel Retail for the Pacific region.

“We are delighted to have been selected to provide a retail solution to meet the airport’s clear vision for this new terminal, and we look forward to working closely with the Nelson Airport team in the coming months to deliver the store.”

 

The retailer also says that, in a bespoke environment, the store design will incorporate a ‘true sense of the South Island’ through a sense of place, together with the materials used.
