The airport’s inauguration ceremony took place on 20 October.

Lagardère Travel Retail has officially opened its commercial operations at Techo International Airport, Cambodia’s new aviation gateway.

The inauguration took place on 20 October, in the presence of Cambodian Prime Minster H.E. Hun Manet, senior government officials, and airport partners. The airport’s soft opening took place on 9 September.

In partnership with HSC Group, Lagardère signed a long-term contract with Cambodia Airport Investment Company (CAIC) to manage the airport’s entire commercial offer across three business lines: duty free & fashion, travel essentials, and dining. This marks the first time the company is operating all three sectors in a new airport in Asia.

Techo International Airport is Cambodia’s largest aviation infrastructure project, and one of the world’s biggest airports by land area. Located near Phnom Penh, it serves as a national and regional hub, with an initial capacity of 13 million passengers per year, set to expand to 30 million.

Lagardère blends global and local

Designed by Foster + Partners, the terminal blends Khmer-inspired aesthetics with modern sustainability features. Lagardère has tailored its store designs and retail concepts to complement the terminal and to reflect Cambodian culture and heritage, integrating local materials, patterns and products throughout the passenger journey.

Across a total footprint of 3,629sq m, Lagardère operates 17 stores and one restaurant, spread across both landside and airside areas of the terminal. The duty-free offering comprises nine outlets; eight located in the departures area and one in arrivals.

The official opening was attended by Cambodian Prime Minister H.E. Hun Manet, and other senior government officials and airport partners.

The fashion portfolio includes two multi-brand concepts – The Gallery and Eye Love – alongside a dedicated APM Monaco boutique. The F&B offer is represented by the airside Marché restaurant. Operated by franchise partner Monument Book, the travel essentials sector features four Relay stores and a Discover Cambodia shop.

The retail offer blends international brands with Cambodian culture. Local names such as Bodia, Senteurs d’Angkor, Kambio Nature, and Seekers Spirits are featured alongside local delicacies like Kampot pepper, showcasing traditional craftsmanship and heritage, and a clear sense of place.
