Lotte Duty Free has launched the ‘LDF Mileage’ service this month to domestic duty free shoppers in South Korea in a bid to strengthen loyalty among its customer base.

Korean members can earn one mile for every US$1 spent on purchases, with free travel-themed gifts, hotel accommodation and overseas travel vouchers available to entice shoppers when they accumulate the required number of mileage points.

One mile is credited for every dollar spent, excluding spending via LDF Pay, credits and gift certificates.

There are four mileage levels for customers to reach: at 10,000 miles, 50,000 miles, 100,000 miles and 200,000 miles.

Those that move through the tiers can reach the status of ‘Honour Club’, which offers lifetime access to the Express and Star Lounge in the delivery hall of Lotte Duty Free’s main downtown store.

In addition, higher membership level members will benefit from optional select benefits, allowing them to choose various rewards.

Previously, Lotte Duty Free offered a free gift to members of the ‘LVVIP’ and ‘LVIP’ tiers of LDF Pay.

Now, they can avail of several benefits such as LDF Pay, various gift vouchers for airport lounge access, travel and Lotte World Adventure.

LVVIP members can select two free gifts and LVIP customers can choose one.

Ju-Nam Kim, CEO, Lotte Duty Free, said: “It is very meaningful to introduce the LDF mileage system for the New Year. Lotte Duty Free will carry out various marketing activities to provide better benefits and services to customers in 2024.”

Meanwhile, Lotte Duty Free Shop is introducing various promotions and prize draws to welcome the new year.

Separately, Lotte Duty Free is hosting various promotions and prize draws to celebrate the New Year.

Until 3 March, users of LDF Pay are being given the chance to win up to KRW1.24 million.

Customers residing outside of Seoul, Gyeonggi Province and Incheon who buy more than $1,000 worth of goods at Lotte Duty Free shops in downtown Seoul will receive an additional KRW10,000 in LDF Pay.

In addition, those with a purchase amount exceeding $150 in offline stores by 31 January will benefit from a pure gold dragon coin through a lottery if they apply for a wish card in the Wish Tree store.
