Cloetta grows travel retail team as confectioner eyes channel expansion

Veerle Lemstra has joined Cloetta’s GTR team as the confectioner continues its growth trajectory.

Swedish confectioner Cloetta has recruited Veerle Lemstra as Global Travel Retail Manager as it continues to grow in the channel. 

Cloetta produces brands including The Jelly Bean Factory, KEX Choklad and Läkerol, as well as chewing gums, nuts and Pick & Mix concepts. 

Over the past two years it has pivoted towards GTR, with a strategy to grow the sugar confectionery category through partnerships with retailers, new product launches, and by developing bespoke displays. 

Lemstra joins Cloetta from digital marketing roles with international experience across China, the US and Spain, and takes the in-house GTR team at the business to four. 

“We are very excited to have  Veerle joining the travel retail team,” said Berend-Jan van Egmond, Head of Cloetta Global Travel Retail.

“Her enthusiasm and international experience will definitely be valuable for a successful further development of our business in this industry”. 

Earlier this year, Cloetta launched Red Band Real Fruit Candy into travel global retail through a listing with Dufry.
