Nc’nean extends travel retail presence with Gebr. Heinemann roll-out.

Scottish organic whisky brand Nc’nean has been selected to join Gebr. Heinemann’s Future Friendly portfolio, which aims to showcase brands and products that prioritise sustainable and responsible production practices.

Nc’nean, a small, independent distillery, achieved B Corp certification in 2022. Its distillery operations achieved verified net zero status (scopes 1 and 2) in 2021 – and is the UK’s first whisky distillery to do so.

Bottled in 100% recycled glass, Nc’nean’s certified organic single malt is now on-shelf in Gebr. Heinemann stores in Amsterdam, Vienna, Berlin, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Sydney airports, as well as with several Heinemann distribution partners.

Nc’nean Founder and CEO Annabel Thomas commented: “I’m proud to be working with a company that is making such genuine progress with their sustainability objectives – not just helping to highlight sustainable products in store, but also in their own operations.”

Heinemann Head Of Buying Liquor Bastian-Philipp Müller noted: “At Gebr. Heinemann sustainability is a defining part of our company strategy. Therefore, we always look for products which meet our sustainability criteria and appeal to travellers as well.

“Crafted with passion and expertise, Nc’nean’s…organic origin and fair production make it an ideal fit for our growing future-friendly range. We are delighted to support Annabel in this impressive project.”
