QDF and Lancôme TR unveil first-of-a-kind hybrid concept at Hamad Airport
By Luke Barras-hill |
Lancôme Travel Retail and Qatar Duty Free (QDF) have launched Café De La Rose at Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Doha.
Situated in the newly opened Concourse D, the retail and café location marries Lancôme’s universe of French beauty, fragrance and gastronomy with QDF’s expertise in creating experiential retail.
Inspired by Lancôme’s signature rose and pink palette, Café De Le Rose invites guests to explore skincare and fragrance skus with a focus on the Absolue collection, heightened by a team of brand experts.
Beyond products, travellers can enjoy complimentary skincare services.
Meanwhile, ceramic oud bouquet dispensers on tables provide an olfactive journey for guests, who can take home their own Absolue Les Parfums passport – a personalised keepsake capturing their favourite scents from the visit.
Beauty and gastronomy in one space
Developed in collaboration with Lenôtre, the café counter offers five exclusive pastries crafted especially for Lancôme by Étienne Leroy, Lenôtre Pasty Chef and World Pastry Champion.
For the partnership, the chef has revisited classic recipes such as the Feuille d’Automne.
He has also devised a Lancôme cheesecake and a signature dessert: the Rose Agora, pear lychee in homage to the maison’s renowned flower.

“With La Rose Agora, I wanted to capture the soul of Lancôme in a single bit: the delicacy of a petal, evoking Lancôme’s iconic rose, the power of a fragrance and the emotion of a season,” explained Étienne Leroy.
Accompanying the delectations are a spread of coffees, teas, fruit juices and champagnes.
The venue includes seating for 28 guests to relax, recharge and soak up the environment, before perusing exclusive Lancôme Café De La Rose Doha merchandise, including personalised coffee cups and embroidered canvas tote bags.
The activation underlines the powerful alliance between the airport, airline, retailer and brand group.
Supporting the concept is a multi-touchpoint journey featuring CRM campaigns, visibility via the Qatar Airways app, and illuminating brand activations at HIA such as digital screens and pink buggies.

Cafe De La Rose underpins the powerful alliance between the brand group, retailer, airport and airline.
Commenting on the opening, Thabet Musleh, Chief Retail & Hospitality Officer at Qatar Airways Group, said: “Café De La Rose is a perfect example of how our partnerships allow us to bring world-class brands and exceptional concepts to our passengers.
“Working with Lancôme and L’Oréal Travel Retail, we’ve created a space that blends beauty, fragrance, and gastronomy in a way that’s unique to Hamad International Airport. It’s all about giving passengers reason to pause, engage, and enjoy an experience that goes beyond what they expect from an airport visit.”
L’Oréal Travel Retail President Emmanuel Goulin added: “The Café de la Rose in Doha embodies a major strategic ambition for L’Oréal Travel Retail: to turn the airport into an Entertaining Destination. By merging Lancôme’s luxury universe with Lenôtre’s exquisite patisserie, we are inviting passengers to an unexpected encounter of French art de vivre. We are reinventing their customer journey to create a sensory and unforgettable beauty moment, fulfilled with immersive discovery and exclusivity.”
