Qatar opens new Omega shop at Doha’s Hamad International

OMEGA BOUTIQUEQatar Duty Free reports that Omega has chosen Doha’s Hamad International Airport (HIA) as the location to open its second boutique within the GCC, offering more than 120 timepieces and a range of gifts for the fast-approaching holiday season.

 

The new store is located in the airport’s ‘Fashion Avenue’ and Senior Vice President Qatar Duty Free Luis Gasset said the opening is a strong addition to the retailer’s current offering.

 

“Visitors to Qatar Duty Free will discover an exceptional shopping experience and a range of products and brands that will surprise and delight them. We are very proud to expand our range of luxury boutiques to welcome Omega, which is a great addition to our world-class shopping hub.

Qatar Duty Free adds that Omega is ‘world-renowned for its innovation and quality’, as well as being ‘immortalised in history’ as the first watch to be worn on the moon. The brand has also been admired on the wrist of the James Bond film character, as well as producing ‘some of the finest and most-desired timepieces demanded by global travellers’ according to QDF.

 

These include the popular Speedmaster, Seamaster and Constellation ranges and passengers visiting the new store will also be able to draw upon ‘expert buying advice’ within store.

RECORD-BREAKING TRAFFIC LEVELS…

As mentioned, Qatar Duty Free recently joined the top ranking as one of the world’s top five airports for shopping in the 2016 Skytrax World Airport Awards, where more than 12.5m travellers are involved in the voting for their favourite airport retail brands.

 

The retailer added: “Hamad International Airport (HIA), the home of Qatar Duty Free, was announced as the world’s fifth ‘Best Airport for Shopping,’ as well as the ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ for the second consecutive year at the 2016 Skytrax World Airport Awards in March.

 

“At the same time HIA leapt into the ‘World’s Top 10 Best Airports’ ranking and became the first ever Middle Eastern airport to achieve the honour.”

 

Hamad International Airport (HIA) welcomed 17.6m passengers during the first half of 2016, registering a growth of more than 20% compared to the 14.6m passengers served during the same period last year, setting a new passenger record for the airport.
