Lotte Duty Free and Estée Lauder held a beauty class for VIPs at the South Korean retailer’s Star Lounge, located within the LDF flagship store in Myeongdong, Seoul.

On 29 and 30 November, across a total of four sessions, Estée Lauder treated customers to a hands-on experience with products from its Prestige line, Re-Nutriv.

The latest event aligns with Lotte Duty Free’s plans to introduce further customer-facing services supported by well-known beauty brands such as Lauder.

At the November event Estée Lauder brand ambassadors demonstrated how to use the Re-Nutriv Diamond Brilliance Serum, Eye Serum, and Cream, and offered eye massages.

Lotte Duty Free and Estée Lauder also presented guests with a Re-Nutriv gift whilst offering additional gifts and PRE-LDF Pay of up to KRW 80,000 depending on the purchase amount.

According to Lotte, its sales to Korean customers in November more than tripled (compared with March this year).

Since the mandatory self-quarantine was lifted on 21 March, the country’s recovery has been rapid, said Lotte. “In particular, imported cosmetics accounted for more than 30% of sales, and were found to be the most preferred product group by domestic customers,” added a statement.

A Lotte Duty Free spokesperson said: “We plan to continue strengthening face-to-face services by holding events for top-tier customers in collaboration with Estée Lauder.”

Lotte’s VIP Star Lounge has hosted many events in collaboration with world-famous brands in previous years, including L’Oréal, Chanel, La Mer, SK-II, Lancôme, Sulwhasoo, and Whoo. Lotte also highlights that it small and medium-sized brands have also benefited from using the space to showcase its products.
