Travel Blue expands in China with three new airport stores

By Charlotte Turner |

Travel-Blue-China-leadLeading travel accessories company, Travel Blue, has revealed that Travel Blue China – its wholly owned subsidiary – has opened three branded stores in Guangzhou Baiyun, Hangzhou Xiaoshan and Hohhot Baita International Airports.

Guangzhou Baiyun and Hangzhou Xiaoshan are both within the top seven largest airports in China with a combined throughput of over 100m passengers annually.

Andy King, Regional Managing Director for Travel Blue China, commented: “The opening of our branded stores in these highly desirable locations is part of our key sales strategy to maximise the rapidly expanding Chinese tourism culture, with the potential forecast exceeding over 400 million international flights by the year 2030 (source COTRI).”

Travel-Blue-China-largeAnother strategic airport for Travel Blue is Hohhot Baita International, located in Inner Mongolia, added King. “It is one of only a small percentage of airports that can meet the landing requirements of the A380 – the largest aircraft type at present.”

In 2017 Huhhot Airport exceeded 10m passengers, but with its ability to accommodate larger aircraft and a recent new route direct to Moscow, this airport is likely to see vastly increased passenger numbers in the upcoming years, says Travel Blue.

With the exciting possibilities presented by this region, Travel Blue says it is ‘thrilled to be involved’ and looks forward to more rapid growth within this dynamic market.
