LoveGreece designs special Metaxa 7 Stars

Metaxa LoveGreece closeupLoveGreece, the creator of authentic Greek lifestyle products, has designed a limited edition of Metaxa 7 Stars which is being unveiled this month across key Greek gateways by Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail in co-operation with Hellenic Duty Free Shops.

Rémy Cointreau [which owns the Metaxa brand] and HDFS are launching the product in Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Heraklion and Athens airports this summer.

Metaxa LoveGreeceLoveGreece was founded in 2012, in the midst of the country’s crisis as a way of promoting Greece and its core values. In the Metaxa project a key brief was to bring to the 125-year-old spirit a touch of summer and a contemporary Greek feeling.

Metaxa combines Muscat wines from the Aegean islands with fine wine distillates and this limited edition offers fresh colours and a design that mixes gold, blue and white colours to evoke the Cycladic landscapes and architecture, and the sun and its reflection on the Aegean Sea. The overall design is inspired by the Greek ‘evil eye’, the signature of LoveGreece, in a minimalistic way.

Commenting on the collaboration, Arnaud Collas, International Marketing Director at the House of Metaxa, says: “Metaxa 7 Stars is one of the most remarkable products of the house, and we were pleased to invite a young designer brand, which is strongly rooted in the purest Greek lifestyle, to create its own interpretation.”

George Hatzizahariou, founder of LoveGreece, adds: “It was a dream come true to have the chance to collaborate with Metaxa, which to me is without doubt the Greek house with the strongest aura and the best international exposure. We created an exclusive interpretation of Metaxa 7 Stars, with the colours and graphic elements for which LoveGreece is famous.”

At HDFS where the new product is exclusively available this summer, Penelope Drakopoulou, Category Manager in the Foreign & Domestic Spirits Marketing Department, says: “Metaxa enhances our pride in being Greek. We will do our best to foster this relationship in the years to come.”

With the purchase of two Metaxa 7 Stars by LoveGreece 70cl or 100cl bottles at one of the participating shops, travellers will be offered a LoveGreece tote bag designed for the spirit brand. To complement the limited edition, Hatzizahariou has also designed a collectors’ T-Shirt, made from 100% Greek cotton. It can only be purchased on www.lovegreece.com.gr this summer only.
