Cochin International Airport is streamlining the shopping experience for travellers with its new Last-Minute Shop and roving Shop on Wheels buggy initiatives.
The projects were brought to life in collaboration with Alpha Kreol India Private Limited, a joint venture between Kreol Group UAE and Avolta, which has a management contract with Cochin Duty Free.
“We have an approximately 10,000 sqft Arrival Shop and an approximately 3,000 sqft Departure Shop [at the airport]. This goes one step ahead in creating extra opportunities for shoppers,” said Lal Arakulath, Director, Alpha Kreol India Private Limited.
The novel Shop on Wheels buggy is a mobile duty free shop that roams the airport concourse, showcasing a curated collection of products.
Passengers can conveniently browse perfumes, chocolates, handicrafts and other items without leaving the waiting area near their gate.

The Last-Minute Shop is located near departures gate 3 and offers a range of travel essentials, from fragrances to chocolates.
“These additions are designed to elevate the shopping experience for passengers,” said S. Suhas, Managing Director, Cochin International Airport.
“The Cochin Duty Free sales growth is significant, and I thank the entire Cochin Duty Free team as well as our partners, Avolta and Kreol Group for their contributions.
“The Last-Minute Shop makes it easy for travellers to grab any necessities before boarding.
“This shop ensures that busy travellers don’t miss out on essentials, providing a seamless shopping experience right at the gate.”
