Denver Airport set to issue more airside retail tenders
By Kevin Rozario |
Denver International Airport (DEN) will issue two retail tenders next month for speciality retail and convenience retail – with another speciality tender coming in December. Five F&B contracts will also be advertised in the next two months. They are all seven-year contracts.
In November, DEN – which processed 25.94m passengers in 2013 – will advertise for applicants for speciality retail at its A and B gates covering two store locations: 105sq m in the centre core of Concourse A and 60sq m in the west inbound sub-core of Concourse B.
The larger space is for a nationally-branded and recognised men’s fashion apparel and accessories concept in the aspirational, affordable luxury, or luxury category.
The airport says: “Concepts with multiple national brands under one roof are prohibited. Branded merchandise sold in the retail location must be the same as the store’s marquee or sign [currently Radio Road/Cry Babies].”
The smaller space [currently The Candy Shoppe] is for a nationally-branded women’s fashion apparel or high-end, designer, sunglasses concept. Again, multi-brand fashion is not allowed, but the sunglasses concepts can be multi-branded.
Next month, DEN will also seek candidates for convenience retail covering 130sq m in the Public Transit Center for a seven-year term. It will comprise food-to-go items such as pre-packaged confectionery, snacks and nuts; beverages and news and magazines. The concept is on the platform level of the new RTD Fastracks commuter rail transit centre.
In December, DEN will issue a speciality retail tender at its A and B gates for two more retail locations: one is 94sq m and the other 60sq m.
The larger unit in the centre core of Concourse A [currently Liberty Duty Free, pictured left] is for an aspirational, affordable luxury, or luxury women’s fashion/accessories concept while the smaller unit in the east inbound sub-core of Concourse B is for a high-end or artisan jewellery concept [currently Colorado Collection].
The F&B tenders will be for spaces that range from 60sq m to over 465sq m.
