Giorgio Armani opens in Doha and Kinmen; now five boutiques in travel retail

By Kevin Rozario |

The Armani Group has pushed the pace of development of its core luxury brand, Giorgio Armani, in travel retail with five stores now open, four in this year alone.

The Italian fashion house has rolled out its two latest boutiques in travel retail – one at Hamad International Airport in Doha (left) and the other in the downtown duty free shop Ever Rich, in Kinmen, Taiwan (below).

The latest openings follow two recent Giorgio Armani units this year, one at the Haitang Bay International Shopping Complex in Hainan, and the other at Milan Malpensa Airport, Terminal 1. They joined an existing Giorgio Armani boutique at DFS Four Seasons in Macau.

The 190sq m Doha boutique opened this month in the luxury area of the airport’s South Node and is entirely dedicated to ready-to-wear collections and accessories for men and women.

The store at the downtown duty free shop Ever Rich Golden Lake Plaza in Kinmen, Taiwan, covers 247sq m and offers clothing and accessories for men and women, including fragrances and eyewear.

The Doha store is luxurious with brushed silk walls lined with special fabric panels and contrasting backlit onyx, floors finished with beige polished stone and large Armani/Casa greige linen carpets.

The Kinmen unit features natural stone floors and marmorino walls, and is enriched with bamboo details in mirror-effect steel with satin textured finishes.
