Muscat and Travelex launch promo

By Doug Newhouse |

Muscat Duty Free (MDF) and Travelex have teamed up in a scratch card instant prize promotion at Muscat International Airport.

The event lasts until June and rewards all customers exchanging more than Omani Rial 100 ($259) with Travelex Currency Exchange with a scratch card voucher. This gives customers the chance to win a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, a fragrance from the MDF range, or a discount to shop at MDF.

Pat O Connor, Operations Manager, Muscat Duty Free said this is the first promotion of this kind and it is aimed at increasing the customer penetration rate in MDF’S Departures and Arrivals shop.

“We hope to encourage passengers using the currency exchange to avail of the exclusive discounts across our range of products,” he said.

RAISING TRANSACTION VALUES

Peter McNally, General Manager of Travelex Oman said the company is excited by the new initiative which serves as ‘an excellent opportunity’ to reward customers for exchanging currency with Travelex.

He said: “We aim to increase our ATV across all our shops in the airport. The beauty of the promotion is that everyone is a winner, all vouchers will contain a prize and for every RO100 a customer exchanges they will receive a voucher.

All passengers, whether they are arriving or departing Muscat will be able to participate in the promotion.”
