Beauty pricing tool launched for duty free
By Kevin Rozario |
French research and marketing house, DRP, has launched an updated pricing measurement tool called The Global Shopper Fragrances & Beauty within its MyDRP database for the duty free and travel retail channel.
Covering 60 countries [mostly Europe, Americas, Asia and Middle East] – and with a total of 150 domestic retailers and 80 airport shops analysed – The Global Shopper enables users to trace travel routes and compare potential product baskets across beauty categories along the journey. Some 8,000skus are included.
“The Global Shopper has been designed to provide an exclusive global view of pricing corridors including domestic and travel retail and it includes charts and graphs for major currencies and can be exported into Excel,” says Associate Director – Founder of DRP, Jean Louis Mouillet.
The service was launched in January as an upgrade of DRP’s data engine to enable easier pricing comparisons.
Pascal Schermesser an owner at DRP, notes: “The tool allows users to evaluate and adapt their pricing strategies in a global market facing sharp competition, currency volatility and consumer sensitive to price levels. For a single sku, a basket of selected products, or a whole brand catalogue, The Global Shopper displays prices and a relevant index along any travel routes, including prices from home country, departing airport , stop-over , arrival airport and final destination.”
