Gittens and Mohn are key IAADFS speakers

Marriott Orlando topThe International Association of Airport Duty Free Stores (IAADFS) has named Angela Gittens, Director General of Airports Council International (ACI World) and Peter Mohn, Owner and CEO of m1nd-set as its two speakers for this year’s debut education session Monday, April 4, 2016.

 

Both will speak on the morning at the 2016 IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas, with Gittens presenting first at 08:00 on the Monday morning session.

 

Gittens will offer her views on ‘the state of the travel industry and ramifications for the duty free and travel retail industry’, while Mohn will present m1nd-set’s new up-to-date research conducted just prior to the IAADFS show, which will focus on traveller buying habits in North America and the Caribbean.

This will be followed the next day (April 5) by a more in-depth workshop presentation of the new research data on the morning of Tuesday, at 08:00.

 

IAADFS is emphasising that delegates should ensure they indicate their intention to attend this event when they register. Those who have already registered, but not for the education session, can still do so by emailing IAADFS.

 

The association is also reminding potential delegates that 22 January (next Friday) is the deadline for the lowest advance registration fee rate available for those registering online with payment.

The organisers add that the registration fee remains frozen from 2013 at $350 per person, provided this is completed online by the January 22 discount deadline.

 

Registration includes access to the three-day Trademarket exhibit hall, plus Sunday night’s Opening Reception, Tuesday night’s Gala Evening and access for the attendee, plus one guest to Club Americas on Monday and Tuesday nights.

 

IAADFS adds that rooms are still available within the organisation’s ‘block’ system at the Orlando World Center Marriott at the IAADFS confirmed room rate of $267 per night, excluding applicable taxes.

 

The association is also recommending that applicants use the hotel’s own online reservation system. It is also urges them to book their rooms as soon as possible to guarantee availability.

Last, but not least, IAADFS is asking all attendees to note that only the official hotel reservation method is being used to book directly with the Orlando World Center Marriott.

 

IAADFS emphasizes that it does not work with any third-party housing agencies.

At the same time, any solicitations received regarding housing for the 2016 Duty Free Show of the Americas are ‘unauthorized’ and any reservations booked through such soliciting companies may result in reservations that are not legitimate.
