King Power (HK) and Thai JV secure luxury HKIA contracts

001a antares chengKing Power Global development Company, a joint-venture between King Power Thailand, and King Power Group (Hong Kong), has been awarded five luxury concessions at Hong Kong International Airport.

King Power will operate five luxury watch and Jewellery concessions, all belonging to the Richemont Group. The brands concerned are Cartier, IWC Schaffhausen, Piaget, Panerai and Jaeger Le Coultre. The concessions will commence in August/September 2019.

Antares Cheng, King Power Group (HK), Managing Director (pictured right) said: “We are extremely pleased that King Power has been awarded these concessions and are grateful to HKIA for having confidence in us and the brands we represent.

“Our offer will be unique and with our brand partnerships, we will deliver world class retail of these products to the travelling consumers at HKIA.”

Earlier this year, Airport Authority Hong Kong issued a tender inviting bids for 36 luxury licences in Terminal 1 (Level 6, East Hall, Restricted Area) and two ‘icon shops’ spanning 458sq m and 479sq m respectively. These will be situated on Levels 6 and 7 in Terminal 1. The submission deadline in both instances was 27 September.

TRBusiness can confirm the evaluation process remains ongoing with further awards scheduled for next month.
