Korean travel retailer Lotte Duty Free has held two all-night parties at its Lotte World Adventure in Jamsil, with guests enjoying duty free shopping, amusement rides and live DJ performances right up until 5am.
Held on the evenings of 14 and 21 October, the event was designed to give domestic and international customers a range of K-culture experiences.
Kicking off at 11pm, the nights attracted 7,000 guests and comprised 10 rides and performances. Facepainting and neon photo zones were also provided.
On 14 October, TWICE, DJ Yesong, and DJ Juncoco performed, while Lee Joon-ho, DJ JEB, and DJ Vandal Rock took to the Garden Stage on 21 October.
Lotte Duty Free model Lee Jun-ho was also in attendance.
Tickets sold out as soon as they were made available, Lotte Duty Free said, proving there was high interest from customers.
The retailer also offered a combined travel and shopping ticket which included duty free shopping alongside the party. This package attracted 600 tourists from Japan, China and other locations across South East Asia.
Customer promotions supporting the event included PRE-LDF PAY giveaways, vouchers which can be used like cash at downtown Lotte Duty Free Stores.
“We decided to hold this all-night party to provide a variety of experiences along with duty-free shopping to domestic and foreign customers,” said Noh Jae-seung, Lotte Duty Free Head of Marketing (from translation).
“Lotte Duty Free will continue to strengthen entertainment marketing by utilising various K-contents.”
Earlier this year, Lotte resumed its annual Family Concert for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.
The retailer has seen sales soar as international travel has resumed. Earlier this year, Lotte reopened its Gimhae International Airport store in Busan following the full refurbishment of the 992sqm space.
The move came as international passenger numbers departing Gimhae from January-May 2023 hit 1.27 million, an 140-fold increase year on year.
In June, Lotte unveiled a new mobile passport service that allows both domestic and international customers to make duty free purchases at its downtown stores, without using their actual passports.
In August, the retailer signed an agreement with the Myeongdong Special Tourism Zone Council to promote tourism in the region. The deal will see Lotte Duty Free launch a number of joint marketing activities to attract tourists to the area.
