The 30sq m Haitang Bay pop-up will run until 30 September.

YSL Beauté has unveiled a pop-up displaying its new Pure Shots skincare line in partnership with China Duty Free Group at the retailer’s Haitang Bay shopping complex.

The ecologically designed space, designed to take travellers on an innovative and more sustainable journey, allows them to interact with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology for tailor-made beauty routines. The 30sq m pop-up will run until 30 September.

Sustainable materials such as Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood and recycled glass are carefully selected. Materials are designed to be separable for circular end-of-life recycling purposes. Parts of the fixtures are designed to be further re-dressed and reused.

The pop also introduces the YSL Urban Skin Check, offering travellers a quick five-minute diagnosis of their skin and tailored skincare routine recommendations. The patented ModiFace AI technology behind uses a skin-scoring model based on over 10,000 images of women around the world.

YSL’s new Pure Shots skincare line is on display in the pop-up.

A BeautyMatic vending machine elevates the digitalised interactive experience and enables visitors to redeem exclusive gifts with a YSL coin.

Emily Coleman, General Manager, YSL Beauté Travel Retail Asia Pacific said: “In collaboration with China Duty Free Group, I am thrilled to launch the YSL Beauté Pure Shots pop-up at Haitang Bay Duty Free Shopping Complex.

“Not only have we invented the beauty of tomorrow with digital innovations and services, we have also pushed boundaries to catalyse a positive change towards more sustainable retailtainment.”

More sustainable materials such as Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood and recycled glass were carefully selected when constructing the pop-up.

In the meantime, YSL Beauté has conducted scientific research to explore the demands of skincare. The new Pure Shots skincare series with its skincare concept targets those who live in urban areas with a fast-paced lifestyle and high pressure.

With 10 years’ of research and development, the new products fuse five natural plant extracts combined with cactus extract. Their purpose is to reboot the loss of the skin’s energy and recover the skin’s balance. The pop-up also allows travellers to discover and try the YSL makeup and fragrances.
