ETRC ramps up Destination Summer campaign with TiKTok challenge

By Andrew Pentol |

The purpose of the Destination Summer campaign is to ensure the coordinated restart of travel.

The European Travel Retail Confederation (ETRC) in partnership with Airlines for Europe, Airports Council International Europe and the International Air Transport Association has launched the #DestinationSummer #TrainingToTravel TikTok challenge.

As reported, the purpose of the Destination Summer campaign is to put sufficient pressure on governments to allow for the coordinated restart of travel.

The aim of this grassroots campaign challenge is to mobilise stakeholders from across the tourism and travel industry (flight attendants, pilots, service workers, retail and staff), as well as travellers, in becoming advocates for a restart of safe travel this summer.

Speaking about the TikTok challenge in May, Julie Lassaigne, Secretary General, ETRC said: “It is about using the power of Tiktok, which can achieve millions of views in a matter of weeks to really try and move the needle and put pressure on governments to make them realise there is a need and appetite from the public to travel again.”

Visuals are available for members and the wider to promote Destination Summer and the restart of travel on other social media channels as well such as Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook.
