India to launch ‘first’ super-premium rum

Wild-Tiger-Rum-leadIndia-based drinks entrepreneur, Mr Gautom Menon says he is ready to launch the ‘first’ super premium rum brand from India into the UAE market and Bengaluru duty free.

Wild Tiger Rum, created by Menon in Coimbatore, is India’s first rum to be produced from a blend of molasses and cane spirit.

After holding a soft launch in London at the UK Rum Fest trade event, Menon is eager to gauge the response in the UAE market as well as the duty free channel.

Menon, Chief Brand Officer, Wild Tiger Beverages said: “Wild Tiger Special Reserve Rum is a dark Rum with 42.8% abv.

Wild-Tiger-Rum-tall“It’s unlike any other Indian rum because of its unique characteristics. Traditional Indian rum is usually just 100% molasses.

ONLY AMERICAN OAK

“Wild Tiger predominately has the same base but it is also blended with some percentage of cane juice spirit, which gives the final blend a lot of aromatic notes and depth in flavour.

“For maturation, we use only American Oakwood barrels from Kentucky, USA. We char the barrels to reactivate the wood and the many natural flavours in them are imparted into the spirit over time.

“Our Rums are a blend of anything between two to five years. The molasses rum is derived from multi-column stills production and the cane juice spirit from double distillation in pot stills. And this blend makes Wild Tiger uniquely delectable or as we like to call it ‘Rumtastic’.”

According to WTR, the stripe design of the sleeve has been tactically designed and cut to ensure that no two bottle designs are alike, making each bottle unique to its owner.

ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY

The glass bottles are made from recycled glass and all the paper used for packaging – including labels, neck tags, cartons and brochures – are made from recycled paper.

“We also donate 10% profits towards Tiger Conservation in South India where we work with other established NGOs on the ground and with prominent Tiger experts,” says WTR.

The brand is slated for registrations in the USA and will also be available in UK and Canada before March 2016, followed by Thailand, Australia, Denmark and Maldives. “Our goal is to have extensive presence in at least 16 countries by the end of 2016,” says Menon.

The entry into UAE markets by the end of January will be followed by a launch in Bangalore duty free by mid February. The duty free price is $20 per bottle.
