Philip Eckles assumes the role of Delhi Duty Free CEO
By Andrew Pentol |
Aer Rianta International (ARI) has appointed Senior Executive Philip Eckles as CEO of its GMR joint-venture Delhi Duty Free Services (DDFS).
The move comes after previous DDFS CEO Luke Gorringe transferred to ARI’s Jakarta Duty Free JV as General Manager.
Since joining the company in 1993 to manage its retail operations in Pakistan, Eckles has held senior posts in Bahrain, Ukraine, Canada and the UK. He joined the ARI Executive team in 2011 as ARIME CEO, leading the group’s operations in the Middle East region.
ON THE MOVE
In 2015, he moved to the role of Global Implementation Director responsible for the operational development and launch of the company’s new concessions and refurbishments. These included new operations in New Zealand, Indonesia, Canada and Saudi Arabia.
ARI CEO Ray Hernan commented: “I am delighted that Philip will be joining the Delhi Duty Free team and I am sure his depth and breadth of commercial experience and knowledge of the travel retail industry will drive the continued growth trajectory of this, one of Asia’s most prestigious duty free locations”.
