TR Consumer Forum 2025 highlights reel
By Faye Bartle |

Duty free and travel retail (DF&TR) stakeholders from around the world arrived in Amsterdam from 2-4 June for the TR Consumer Forum, which delivered a masterclass in understanding and engaging with today’s travelling shoppers.
The fifth annual edition of the DF&TR industry’s consumer-centric Forum took place at the Amsterdam Congress Center at Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam City West.
The two-and-a-half day programme was curated under the theme of ‘Transaction to Transformation: Addressing Travel Retail’s New Consumers’, giving rise to an eclectic mix of powerful keynotes addresses, dynamic panel sessions and excellent networking opportunities.
Delegates gained access to an exclusively curated insights package from our esteemed data partner m1nd-set, worth six figures in value (if independently commissioned), with this year’s programme taking a deep dive into key topics driving discussion and debate, from the future of airport real estate to emerging South East Asia travel markets and ways to boost cultural IQ.
The Forum also saw the introduction of a variety of new elements, from the first live iteration of our popular Over To You magazine column to a session that delved in to how best to leverage social media to drive conversation featuring a panel of Gen Z speakers.
This dynamic highlights reel offers a glimpse of the action. Enjoy!
This year’s audience was intensely engaged, with a flurry of questions from the floor and high activity on social media. TRBusiness will publish key insights from the official delegate survey in due course.
“We are extremely pleased to see that the fruitful collaboration between leading trade media TRBusiness and the leading marketing intelligence agency m1nd-set has become the most imperative event in the DF&TR industry regarding consumer insights,” said Dr. Peter Mohn, Owner & CEO of m1nd-set.
“The fascinating shifts in shopper expectations and behaviour is fuelled by the growing share of Gen Z travellers and shoppers, who are dramatically different compared to all other generations, and forces all the industry stakeholders to stay lithe and adjust to the rapid changes in our channel.
“Additionally, the travel retail channel is facing a dramatic shift from being driven by price advantage to now being driven by experiential retail, which is a tremendous opportunity for the whole industry.”

“We would once again like to express our sincere thanks to our delegates, speakers and valued event partners for helping to make this event possible. Your support and participation is deeply appreciated and we are already looking forward to welcoming you at next year’s event.”
