Lagardère Capital snaps up MTB F&B contract

Midfield Terminal Abu DhabiFollowing a competitive tender, Lagardère Capital – a joint venture between Lagardère Travel Retail and Abu Dhabi Capital Group – has been awarded the contract to operate nine food and beverage units at the new Midfield Terminal Building (MTB) at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

 

As previously reported, it was Ireland’s Aer Rianta International (ARI) and Lagardère Capital, which won the core duty free and travel retail concessions at MTB last year. The contracts run from December 2017 for 10 years.

 

The new F&B contract for Lagardère Capital further strengthens the JV’s position at the airport, which registered a record 23.3m passengers in 2015.

The 2,388sq m of F&B space, to be operated by Lagardère Capital (announced yesterday) will be spread across four units located in the main departure halls (landside and airside) and five units at the piers.

 

In addition to operating franchised brands, Lagardère Capital will operate owned brands, and tailor-made concepts created especially for Abu Dhabi Airport.
