Rey is on the move

As Japanese beauty giant, Shiseido, continues its regional shakeup, the global group has appointed Coty’s Marc Rey as President and CEO of Shiseido Americas effective from 1 September.

Rey is currently President of Coty USA and Regional SVP for North America, a role he has held since January 2013. Coty, this month, announced its merger with P&G Beauty.

Prior to 2013, Rey spent almost four years as President of YSL Beauté, Giorgio Armani and Ralph Lauren Beauty with L’Oréal USA. He also worked for management consultancy McKinsey & Company in the 1990s.

The Americas appointment will be made at the same time as Shiseido appoints a new President & CEO of Shiseido Europe Region (Europe, Middle East & Africa), Louis Desazars. Desazars also becomes President and CEO of Beauté Prestige International, the designer fragrance arm of Shiseido Group on the same date.
