TR Sustainability Week registration now open
By Michael Barrett |
TRBusiness is delighted to announce that registration is now open for the second annual Travel Retail Sustainability Week, which will take place from 19-22 April, to coincide once again with Earth Day on 22 April.
TRBusiness is pleased to provide free-of-charge access to this highly valuable virtual event, in a bid to help promote initiatives and drive investment in sustainability across the sector.
The industry’s only event dedicated solely to sustainability and social responsibility was launched in 2021 in a bid to champion the many sustainable initiatives being undertaken across the global travel retail sector, showcase new ideas to inspire others and connect companies within the industry with potential partners from sustainable service providers.
As reported, momentum is building for the 2022 edition, as a plethora of major brands have committed their support. Following an announcement about Mars’ unique partnership with TRBusiness for the company’s sustainability agenda, including Headline Sponsorship of TR Sustainability Week, TRBusiness is delighted to reveal that Beam Suntory has signed up as a Platinum Partner of the event
Highlights from the 2021 event can be seen in the video below.
JTI, L’Occitane en Provence, Moroccanoil along with confectionery companies Nestlé and Ritter Sport have all signed up as Premium Partners.
The inaugural event was attended by just under 1000 industry delegates. The video recordings from the 2021 event can still be seen on the TRBusiness Youtube channel and the TR Sustainability Week website.
HEALTH & WELLBEING; DIVERSITY & INCLUSION
This year’s TR Sustainability Week programme will encompass a broader range of topics, including subjects such as health and wellbeing as well as diversity and inclusion in addition to the environmental side of sustainability, as previously reported by TRBusiness.
The programme will also feature dedicated sessions on sustainable innovations, which will cover a range of topics from waste management to renewable energy and innovative packaging. There will be a session on design, category specific sessions, and a ‘green influencer’ session which will feature thought-leading initiatives.
The full agenda can be seen on the Travel Retail Sustainability Week website here. More details on the speaker line-up will be announced in the near future.
THE SUSTAINABILITY PITCH RETURNS
The 2022 event also sees the return of the Sustainability Pitch programme, which celebrates some of the most innovative sustainable initiatives undertaken across all sectors and categories.
The pitches are judged by an esteemed panel of senior industry executives – our ‘Sustainability Guardians’ – from airport and cruise companies, retailers, research agencies and industry associations.
Most of the judges from the inaugural event in 2021 will be returning to judge the 2022 pitches alongside some new faces joining the panel this year. The 2022 Sustainability Guardians can be seen here.
Last year’s event saw an impressive number of companies vying for the Sustainability Hero and Trailblazer status. The deadline for submissions to the Sustainability Pitch programme is 28 February.
The pitch videos can also be seen on the 2021 agenda page on the event website.
