Tumi opens 40th store in travel retail at La Guardia Airport (LGA)

By Kevin Rozario |

New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) now hosts the 40th travel retail store from luggage and accessories brand Tumi.

The new 112sq m landside unit in Terminal B follows recent openings in Tokyo Haneda Airport in September, New York JFK Terminal 4 airside in August, as well as other key airport and downtown duty free locations, such as Kuala Lumpur, Singapore Changi, Kaohsiung and Kinmen in Taiwan, and Changsha Huanghua, Haitang Bay and Haikou in China.

In the spring, Tumi also expanded its European presence with a successful pop-up shop at London Heathrow Airport.

CARBON FIBRE LAUNCH

The LGA unit feature a wide array of travel, business and lifestyle collections including the new ultra-light, super-strong, expandable Tegra- Light Max collection. The store also features a prominent window display featuring the new 11-piece soft carbon fibre collection, CFX which was unveiled worldwide earlier this month.

Created by TUMI in partnership with US manufacturer Carbitex, the carbon fibre weave results in a dense, abrasion-resistant material, which is highly durable yet malleable enough to make soft travel bags and accessories.
