On 21 May, Diverse Flavours supplied wines for an exclusive wine tasting dinner held by King Power for the retailer’s VIP customers at the Pullman Bangkok King Power Hotel.
Kobus Deetlefs, the seventh generation of Deetlefs was on hand to talk about his wines, his estate and pair his wines with some food prepared by the Master Chef and his staff at the Dejavu restaurant in the Pullman Hotel.
Deetlefs winery dates back to 1822 and is the second oldest wine estate in South Africa under ownership of the same family.
Anthony Budd made a presentation on the Ernie Els wines and paired the famous golfer’s wines with a menu of dishes. At the end there was a lucky draw for bottles of Ernie Els Big Easy Red and Signature blend, which had been specially signed by the golfing legend.

Budd said: “This was a fantastic night and we were delighted to be able to present, taste, and get great feedback about the wines. For many people it was their first time to taste Wines from South Africa, so hopefully we made a good impression, and the VIP customers will now buy the wines in King Power’s duty free shops.
“This night was really possible thanks to Khun Witraporn from King Power, Khun Nuanwan from Ambrose and sponsorship from Siam Commercial Bank so a very big thank you goes to them all.”
King Power Duty Free shops currently sell the following range: Ernie Els Signature Blend, Ernie Els Proprietors Blend, Ernie Els Big Easy, Deetlefs Estate Pinotage, Deetlefs Estate Merlot, Deetlefs Estate Sauvignon Blanc, Stonecross Pinotage, Stonecross Shiraz.
