Top Davidoff Golf 2016Oettinger Davidoff AG is making its new-launch Davidoff Golf Scorecard Edition 2016 cigars available at its Flagship Stores worldwide and through golf aficionados at selected Appointed Merchants in the US in March and also in Asia this April.

The company says that the new line has been created with moments of ‘shared golf pleasures’ in mind and it believes this new initiative will be well received.

Charles Awad, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing & Innovation at Oettinger Davidoff AG said: “Sharing cigars and comparing scores is a treasured ritual of any round of golf. And as every scorecard has a story to tell, you will enjoy reviewing the tale of the tees with your friends (and rivals), whilst hopefully savouring one of the special Winners Cigars included.

Davidoff Scorecard“You will relish every nuance of these exclusive Gran Toros and be able to fill your scorecard as beautifully as your time out on the fairways,” he says.

Describing the tobacco profile for the Grand Toro format, the company says the wrapper comprises a Habano Ecuador, with a Piloto binder. In addition, the filler includes San Vicente Mejorado Visus, San Vicente Mejorado Ligero, Piloto Visus Hybrid Olor/Piloto Seco.

STYLE AND FLAVOUR…

Revealing the style and flavour of the new product, Davidoff said: “The majestic Gran Toro format of this Davidoff Golf Scorecard Edition 2016 allows the aficionado to enjoy the cigar’s intensive but balanced and nuanced taste over its entire length. The front nine delivers oaky, coffee notes, whilst the back nine brings it home with sweet honey tones.

“This well balanced cigar with a firm ash has a perfect consistency and draw. When lighting it up, peppery notes are paired with an enjoyable creaminess, combined with flavours of hardwood, roasted coffee and salted nuts.

“The hardwood and the roasted notes are trading up in the second third with a beautiful added complexity deriving from the Dominican Mejorado tobaccos in the filler and the Piloto binder from the Martin Garcia zone.

“In the last third, aromas of a well brewed Darjeeling tea with a hint of honey are present, and the last puffs have a delightfully earthy character. A Single Malt Whiskey with an oak wood and fruity character would pair perfectly with this special cigar.”
