Cerruti 1881: three Saudi airports by 2016
By Kevin Rozario |
Italian fashion brand, Cerruti 1881 expects to be in three of Saudi Arabia’s airports by the end of next year – having just entered the market in June with a 25sq m shop-in-shop in Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport.
Cerruti was founded in 1967 in Paris by the Italian stylist and fashion designer Nino Cerruti, and its diffusion line Cerruti 1881 has been expanding in DF&TR.
The King Fahd store sells men’s and women’s leather goods, watches, fashion jewellery, and eyewear. It is located in the domestic terminal, T1, which processes 5m passengers a year. For this opening, Cerruti 1881 partnered Al Musbah Group, the leading DF&TR company in the domestic terminal. The group has more than 23 other airport locations in the country.
King Fahd International – the third biggest hub for Saudi Arabian Airlines – serves most of eastern Saudi Arabia and, in particular, the urban centres of Dhahran, Khobar, Qatif, Ras Tanura, and Al-Thuqbah.
Cerruti 1881 now has plans for additional openings before the end of 2016 at the bigger airports of Jeddah and Riyadh.
Of the Middle East in general – where Cerruti 1881 has airport doors in Beirut, Dubai, Sharjiah, Cairo and Kuwait, plus Syria border shops – the brand tells TRBusiness: “The region is one of the fastest growing for us in DF&TR, inflight included.”
