SkinCeuticals makes long-awaited debut in travel retail through China
By Charlotte Turner |
On 22 November, L’Oréal Travel Retail Asia Pacific and China Duty Free Group celebrated the launch of US-based professional skincare brand, SkinCeuticals, with a pop-up store in the Haitang Bay Duty Free Shopping Center, Sanya.
With SkinCeuticals now joining dermocosmetics brands La Roche-Posay and Vichy, “it further strengthens L’Oréal Travel Retail Asia Pacific’s powerful brand portfolio to provide beauty for all travellers,” insists the beauty giant.
According to L’Oréal, the foundations of the brand were built long before the company was established, with Dr Sheldon Pinnell’s ‘groundbreaking research’ on vitamin C. In the years since, the brand says it remains committed to using evidence-based research to develop new antioxidant and cosmeceutical formulations.
To highlight SkinCeuticals’ mission in ‘providing advanced skincare backed by science’, visitors are invited to explore the pop-up’s immersive spaces, such as an anti-oxidation lab and an interactive game wall for a close-up experience of the advanced anti- oxidation technology.
AN APPLE A DAY…
At the event, SkinCeuticals experts at the Digital Orchard demonstrated the antioxidant ‘apple test’, while professional skin diagnosis and skincare express facial treatments by SkinCeuticals experts were available to travellers.

“Through our exclusive collaboration with China Duty Free Group, we are thrilled that SkinCeuticals is at last launched in travel retail,” says Emmanuel Goulin, Managing Director of L’Oréal Travel Retail Asia Pacific.
“The dermocosmetics market continues to be buoyant, and SkinCeuticals is the perfect answer to meeting specific travellers’ needs in terms of prevention, protection and correction of skin concerns.

A LONG-TIME COMING
“Travellers have been longing for the launch of SkinCeuticals, and today, we are able to make this into reality,” says Terry Chua, Vice President of Central Merchandising Division at China Duty Free Group.
“The successful event today is a perfect demonstration of the deepened strategic partnership with L’Oréal Travel Retail Asia Pacific, and we look forward to the exciting expansion of SkinCeuticals in place under China Duty Free Group.”
SkinCeuticals is now available at Shanghai Pudong Airport Terminal S1 and set to launch at Beijing Capital International Airport by early 2020.
