Lotte Duty Free launches new LDF Original Series drama with Lee Junho

Lotte Duty Free’s ‘Lotte Duty Free Family Premier with Lee Junho’ event hosted 700 fans.

Lotte Duty Free welcomed 700 of its members to a fan meeting with Lee Junho, the latest star in its LDF Original Series video content campaign, at the Eunpyeong Culture & Arts Center in Seoul on 19 November.

The fan meeting lasted for approximately 90 minutes and was based around concept of going on a trip with the famous singer and actor (who is a member of the South Korean boy band 2PM), capitalising on the excitement around the resumption of overseas travel.

People won their places at the event thanks to a Lotte Duty Free members’ competition that ran throughout October, offering applicants a one-in-30 chance of winning a ticket.

At the fan meeting, the first episode in a two-part series of short dramas starring Junho was released, inspiring an ‘enthusiastic response’ from the audience.

To celebrate the launch, Lotte Duty Free is giving away posters depicting the dramas on a first-come, first-served basis to customers who purchase more than US$150 online or offline with the retailer.

The second episode is premièring from today (21 November) on the official SNS channel of Lotte Duty Free.

The two-part LDF Original Series starring Lee Junho is available to watch on Lotte Duty Free’s SNS channel.

Lotte Duty Free has been actively conducting global marketing, including completing the model line-up and launching the LDF Original Series content, since the second half of 2022.

It is playing an important role in driving footfall to the stores, and raising awareness of the retailer in Korea and beyond.

The first LDF Original Series episode in the campaign, starring boy band Stray Kids, has attracted more than 12 million views since its premiere in October.

The week before and after the episode was released, the number of regular customers visiting Lotte Duty Free increased by around 20%, according to the company.

The retailer has been working with Lee Junho as part of its Korean-content (K-content) marketing since August.

Future LDF Original Series content will feature Korean girl group Aespa (December 2022), girl group Twice (January 2023), and boy group Super Junior (February 2023).

Lotte Duty Free is currently hosting its winter season event ‘Happy Duty Freesmas from November to January 1 2023, offering discounts on top brands and other incentives.
