A request for proposals to run duty free at TIA departures is due in December.

Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza (TIA) in Albania has announced an opportunity to operate duty free services in the departure area of the main terminal building.

A request for proposals for the 282sq m space is due to be distributed on 7 December up until 14:00pm (Eastern Time) only.

Interested parties are required to provide information on their current activities in duty free management, including the number, size and location of operations.

Participation in the process necessitates a minimum relevant turnover of €1,000,000 ($1,130,000) in the last financial year, plus annual turnover and profit and loss statements from the past three years (or from the date of operation).

TIA handled 2.6m passengers in 2017 (+20%) and is the Balkan nation’s air transport hub.

According to the operator, “it represents a unique and highly attractive location for all retailers and caterers with double-digit growth in passengers”.

The RFP and Confidentiality Commitment Document is retrievable from the Tirana Airport administration building, Rinas.
