Change to Dublin Airport Authority name
By Charlotte Turner |
The Irish Government has announced that the corporate name of Dublin Airport Authority plc (“the Company”) will be changed in the near future to “daa” and the Company renamed “daa plc”.
The new name will be incorporated in a legislative change which will form part of a Bill which it is intended will be published by Government during the autumn session of the Oireachtas (Parliament) and enacted by the end of this year.
The Board of Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) says the decision represents a pragmatic and cost-effective response to a situation where the specific “Dublin” and “Authority” elements of the Group’s corporate name did not fully reflect its business focus or ethos.
“The amended holding company name, “daa” retains the positive associations it has built with corporate stakeholders over the past decade, including those outside Ireland and throughout the aviation industry generally,” says the Authority.
“Under the holding company framework, the Group will continue to promote the distinctive identities of its key operating business units, including Dublin and Cork Airports; ARI, the multinational airport retail company; and a newly-established subsidiary focusing on airport transactions and advisory services,” it adds.
